科技创新之脉:全国公众认知度调查报告解读
中国人民大学中国调查与数据中心(NSRC) recently conducted a nationwide survey of 3,114 respondents aged 18-60 to gauge the public's perception of science and technology innovation. The findings were presented at a report launch and expert forum titled "Insights into Technological Vibrations: Building Bridges for Innovation."
The report shows that the public has a high recognition and satisfaction rate for technological innovations in four areas: 5G communications, consumer internet, aviation and aerospace, and rail transportation. These fields have made significant contributions to society.
In contrast, industrial internet, artificial intelligence with large models, and biopharmaceuticals scored lower overall ratings below 4 points. The decrease in rating among higher-educated respondents indicates limited understanding of these technologies' practical benefits. According to China Academy of Sciences' Technology Strategy Consulting Research Institute researcher Zhou Chengxiong, further research is needed to apply these technologies effectively.
Public appreciation for the contributions made by different innovation entities was also evaluated. Research institutions (4.43 points), private enterprises (4.29 points), universities (4.15 points), and government bodies received high scores from the public.
Central University of Finance and Economics Professor Xu Xiang believes that private enterprises are more competitive due to their market environment; they therefore possess stronger internal innovative drive.
The evaluation results show that both first-tier companies such as Huawei, DJI Innovations Inc., BYD Company Ltd., Tencent Holdings Ltd., Yunnan Guotai Information Technology Co., Ltd., Xiaomi Corporation) with ratings above 4 points as well as second-tier ones like Alibaba Group Holding Limited () , Baidu Inc.) with ratings over 3.7 points have garnered widespread recognition from the public.
These achievements can be attributed to strong R&D investment by private listed companies in China—averaging an R&D intensity of 3.75%, higher than the industry average—and ranking among top global performers like Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd.) , Tencent Holdings Ltd.).
Based on these findings, researchers recommend five strategies for advancing technology innovation:
1. Optimize innovation environments & ecosystems through education、technology、talent integration.
2. Refine policies related to technology development while maintaining safety standards.
3. Strengthen corporate roles & spirit, promote positive incentives, honor those who contribute significantly.
4. Deepen international cooperation while ensuring security measures enable self-reliance.
5. Cultivate scientific culture & literacy, foster respect for knowledge & tolerance towards failure。
By analyzing this data-driven report on national sentiment toward tech advancements, we gain valuable insights into fostering sustainable growth across industries while cultivating an inclusive atmosphere embracing creative minds worldwide。
